I’m still confused as to how these seem to be the most stolen cars.

They’re easy to steal and they have valuable parts.

Dude probably bought this thing yesterday.

Sucks though. I'll keep an eye out in south Jersey.

Swappability with cheaper older Honda’s. Chop ‘em up, move ‘em out, make easy money more than likely.

If I owned an Integra I'd put one of those South African anti-theft/carjacking flamethrowers on it. Not even joking.

I’d hire Chuck Norris to guard it...

The wise man builds his house on the.....car that isnt easily stolen? Lol But you would thing that she would have invested in lojack, or some sort of kill switch (cheapest option too)

They have no immobilizer, and they are one of the best handling FWD cars. And look at the damn thing.

East to steal

A normal guy could part it out (I did mine)

Could swap most parts into any other honda

Eh, a kill switch wouldn't do much, just flatbed it to the chop shop.

Hey not sure if this is a friend of yours who told you to post this here, but you may want to remove her name/number and just add the local PD’s number.

It's sad that it's a Type-R model, but that font makes me not want to help at all. The all caps is annoying, too.

I’d be willing to bet it was left outside when it was stolen.

Man it sucks but when Honda uses the same key for years this happens. I watched my buddy take a old Honda key to the wrong car. He filed it down some and with a few giggles the car started. All you need is a old key and some lock knowledge. Still sucks. Worth about 4-5k in parts.

Yep, right near my hometown. The amount of stolen Hondas around there is alarming.

real talk: how do you even theft proof cars like this? my trans am can be stolen with a flat head screwdriver. yea. peadal locks/steering locks are a joke, killswitches can be bypassed easily, and alarms don’t work.

I garaged mine and installed a quick release wheel. Gave zero fucks walking around my campus or into work with a steering wheel

That sounds like one of the only ways to keep a teggy from getting stolen. Especially a Type R. The only other way I can think of would be a series of hidden kill switches like Furiosa’s from Mad Max Fury Road.

Don’t get me wrong, I feel bad for this woman. But you gotta know how tasty a Type R is to thieves. Sadly, insurance probably won’t know the real value it would command on the market.
